A new Call of Duty update has been deployed on Steam and Battle.net for PC players, specifically targeting a troublesome blue screen error plaguing Black Ops 6 and Warzone. Activision has confirmed that the same fix will be released for the Microsoft Store on February 5th.
Since Season 2's launch on January 28th, Treyarch Studios and Raven Software have consistently updated both Black Ops 6 and Warzone. This latest PC patch follows a February 3rd update that addressed various bugs across platforms, including introducing a vote-to-forfeit feature in Black Ops 6 Ranked Play and weapon balancing adjustments in Warzone for the Model L, KSV, Feng 82, and Jackal PDW.
The blue screen error emerged shortly after the February 3rd update, impacting numerous PC players mid-match and often necessitating system restarts. Activision, via the COD Updates Twitter account, confirmed the fix for Steam and Battle.net users, with the Microsoft Store version scheduled for imminent release.
While the blue screen fix is welcome news, other issues persist, including performance problems in Black Ops 6. A recent Reddit post highlighted a new Season 2 map, Bounty, causing significant frame rate drops for some players when glass panes are broken. Others echoed similar experiences, urging Treyarch for a prompt resolution.
Warzone has also faced challenges. Activision announced a reduced content rollout for Season 2, prioritizing gameplay refinement, bug fixes, and quality-of-life enhancements over new features. The initial Season 2 launch for Warzone primarily featured new Ranked Play rewards and a new perk.
