Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 & Warzone Season 2 Reloaded: Deep Dive into Patch Notes and New Content

The Season 2 Reloaded update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone has arrived, bringing a mix of new content and gameplay enhancements.  While Black Ops 6 receives a substantial injection of features, Warzone's focus remains on refinements and bug fixes, as previously announced by Activision.

Black Ops 6 players can explore the new Bullet map, set on a speeding train, and revisit the classic Grind map from Black Ops 2.  A range of melee weapons, including some inspired by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, add new close-quarters combat options. The TMNT are also featured in several store bundles.

Weapon balancing is a key part of this update.  In Warzone, the AK-74, Cypher 091, Krig C, and Kompakt 92, among others, receive buffs, while the PP-919, C9, and XM4 are nerfed. Black Ops 6 sees buffs to the GPR 91, Feng 82, SWAT 5.56, Tsarkov 7.62, AEK-973, and several melee weapons, without any nerfs.

The TMNT collaboration, while adding new content, has drawn criticism due to the high cost of acquiring all the operator skins. While the Event Pass is reasonably priced, collecting all the Turtles will set players back a considerable sum, echoing previous controversies around premium content pricing.

The Season 2 Reloaded update features numerous gameplay adjustments. Melee combat has been refined with improved lunge distances, especially for two-hit kill weapons. The update also tackles exploits, like weapon duplication via Loadout Drops in Resurgence mode.

Warzone introduces the 'Low Profile' perk, offering enhanced movement speed while crouched or prone, concealed death markers, and a slight movement boost when downed. Gas grenade effects have been adjusted, removing a double penalty and reducing the movement speed debuff.  Killstreak callouts have been improved for consistency.

Several weapon adjustments are specific to Modern Warfare II & III weapons and attachments, with the goal of making popular ammo types less of a trade-off.  Several bug fixes address movement, weapons, combat, killstreaks, UI/UX, stability, and other miscellaneous issues.
