Following a significant player outcry regarding cheating and other issues, Activision has announced key changes coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone with the launch of Season 2.  A major focus is addressing the rampant cheating problem affecting Ranked Play, with a new cross-play disable option for console players.

The initial success of Black Ops 6 was unfortunately hampered by a wave of bugs, glitches, and a surge in cheaters, leading to a noticeable decline in player numbers. Activision is determined to rectify this situation and regain player trust.

The positive reception of Black Ops 6's campaign has sparked hope for the return of certain features.

Season 2 promises significant changes for Ranked Play in both Black Ops 6 and Warzone, starting with the ability for console players to opt out of cross-play and avoid matching with PC players. This much-requested feature is currently undergoing testing and is expected to be implemented sometime during Season 2.

Further enhancing the ranked experience, Season 2 will introduce a Vote to Forfeit option, allowing teams to prematurely end a match by consensus.  Activision is also testing a rejoin feature for Ranked Play to address disconnections mid-match.  Finally, new rewards await ranked players, including camos for Gold rank and above, a Jackal PDW blueprint for achieving 10 wins, and a Large Decal for reaching 100 wins.

Beyond Ranked Play improvements, Activision is prioritizing bug fixes and quality-of-life enhancements. While this means Season 2 of Warzone may have less new content than originally planned, the focus is on creating a more stable and enjoyable gaming experience.
