The recent PlayStation Network outage disrupted Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone players, preventing them from accessing the Double XP event for nearly a full day. To compensate for this lost time, developer Treyarch has extended the event by 48 hours.
Originally slated to run from February 6th to February 10th, the Double XP event will now continue until February 12th at 10:00 a.m. PT. This extension applies to XP, Weapon XP, and GobbleGum acquisition rates in both Black Ops 6 and Warzone.
Season 2 of Black Ops 6 and Warzone launched on January 28th, and the first Double XP event kicked off on February 6th. These events are a regular occurrence in the Call of Duty franchise, providing players with the opportunity to significantly accelerate their progression.
The PlayStation Network outage on February 7th impacted players on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, preventing online play for approximately 24 hours. Many players voiced their frustration at missing out on a full day of the Double XP bonuses.
Treyarch acknowledged the community's concerns and responded swiftly by extending the event duration. While the Double XP event received a 48-hour extension, other concurrent events, such as the ongoing Terminator event, remain unaffected.
This extension is welcome news for players aiming to reach higher Prestige ranks or maximize their weapon upgrades. However, some players continue to express frustration over ongoing hacking and cheating issues within Black Ops 6 and Warzone.
The extended Double XP period provides an ideal opportunity for players to level up quickly and enhance their weapons before venturing into Ranked Play. Additionally, players can continue participating in the Terminator event to earn skulls while benefiting from the bonus XP and GobbleGum rates in multiplayer and Zombies modes.
