Treyarch Studios is gearing up for another Double XP event in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, set to begin on January 30th.  This news comes hot on the heels of the Season 2 launch on January 28th, which brought a wealth of new content to the game.

While the official duration of the event is yet to be confirmed, previous Double XP weekends typically run for several days, potentially offering players a boosted experience gain throughout the weekend and into the following week.  Players can anticipate enhanced rates for XP, Weapon XP, and Gobblegums, though Battle Pass XP will not be included in this particular event, according to the in-game information.

The timing of this Double XP weekend perfectly complements the arrival of new weaponry in Season 2.  Players can take advantage of the boosted XP rates to level up the Feng 82 light machine gun, the iconic PPSH-41 submachine gun, and the new Cypher 091 assault rifle. All three weapons are available for free through the Season 2 Battle Pass.

Season 2's launch wasn't without its challenges.  While Multiplayer received a significant content drop, including three new maps, Activision acknowledged that Warzone's update was scaled back to prioritize addressing existing bugs, glitches, and gameplay issues. The focus for Warzone in Season 2 will be on gameplay improvements and quality-of-life enhancements.

Beyond the Double XP weekend, players can also anticipate a Terminator-themed event kicking off on February 6th.  This limited-time event will offer 13 unlockable rewards, earned by collecting skulls dropped by eliminated enemies in Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone.  In Warzone, skulls can also be found in caches.
