Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 2 is bringing a welcome change to the camo grind. Players will now unlock and equip Special Camos after obtaining just five Military Camos, equivalent to only 30 headshots per weapon. This change, effective with the Season 2 launch on January 28th, significantly reduces the previous requirement of 100 headshots.
This update comes as a response to player feedback and aims to increase the utilization of the game's extensive collection of 250+ Special Camos. Treyarch Studios acknowledged the community's concerns about the previous system and implemented this adjustment to improve the overall player experience.
The anticipation for Season 2 is high, especially given the declining player count on Steam. This update, following the longest Season 1 in franchise history, promises fresh content and addresses several community concerns. Notably, console players will now have the option to disable crossplay in Ranked Play, a direct response to the hacking issues affecting PC platforms.
Activision has confirmed the return of Verdansk to Warzone in 2025, generating excitement among fans. While the specific date remains undisclosed, several possibilities are being speculated upon within the community.
The camo grind has been a major focus for Black Ops 6 players. Unlocking Dark Matter, the highest camo, requires completing all Military, Special, and Mastery Camos. The reduction in headshot requirements for Military Camos will streamline this process considerably.
Season 2 also introduces a highly requested camo challenge tracker, previously featured in Modern Warfare 3 (2023). This tracker allows players to monitor up to 10 camo challenges simultaneously with live in-game updates, simplifying the path to Dark Matter.
