Season 2 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is set to unleash a wave of new content for both multiplayer and Zombies modes, starting Tuesday, January 28th.  Players can anticipate new weapons, maps, and the return of popular modes like Gun Game.

The Zombies storyline continues to unfold in Season 2 with the introduction of 'The Tomb.' Following the events of the 'Citadelle des Morts' map, Weaver, Maya, Carver, and Grey journey to a cursed dig site and ancient catacombs, pursuing the elusive Sentinel Artifact. The depths of The Tomb are rumored to hold centuries of paranormal activity, promising a thrilling and chilling experience.

Developer Treyarch has offered a glimpse into The Tomb with newly released screenshots, showcasing the diverse environments players will encounter. Starting at the Dig Site, a sprawling archaeological area marked by glowing runes, players can venture into the Neolithic Catacombs and the Ossuary. The Catacombs reveal remnants of ancient civilizations, including intriguing cave paintings, while the Ossuary presents a darker atmosphere, filled with skulls, bone piles, and ominous altars.

Further exploration reveals the Tombs area, adorned with statues of ancient warriors and depictions of hoplites battling a charging bull. The grandeur of this sunlit area contrasts sharply with the candlelit Shrine of the Hierophants, a vaulted chamber serving as the final resting place for significant figures from a bygone era.

Beyond the Shrine lie the Subterranean Temple and Deep Excavation, linked within a vast cavern encircled by pillars.  For those who survive the Deep Excavation, even deeper areas await: the Doorway to Nowhere and the Dark Aether Nexus. While details remain scarce, it is speculated that the Dark Aether Nexus will play a crucial role in the map's main quest, potentially involving the liberation of Samantha Maxis from the Dark Aether.

A new enemy joins the fray in The Tomb: the Shock Mimic. These deceptive creatures disguise themselves as useful items, ambushing players with razor-sharp claws and electrifying attacks. Their distortion camouflage disrupts radar and disorients players, making powerful weapons like the Ray Gun essential for survival.

Adding to the arsenal, the fan-favorite PPSh-41 submachine gun returns, alongside the Death Perception Perk-a-Cola from Black Ops 4. These additions are sure to excite veteran players and provide new tactical options for tackling the undead hordes.
