The upcoming Season 2 content update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone is finally here, bringing a mix of nostalgia and new experiences. One of the new multiplayer maps in Black Ops 6 is generating significant buzz, evoking memories of the popular Black Ops 2 map, Hijacked.
Launching on January 28th, Season 2 introduces two new multiplayer maps for Black Ops 6 players. One of these, named Lifeline, is a 2v2/6v6 strike map set on a yacht, drawing immediate comparisons to Hijacked. While visually similar, Lifeline is a completely original creation with its own distinct layout and features.
While Black Ops 6 multiplayer receives a healthy dose of new content, Warzone players face a less fortunate situation. Due to persistent cheating problems and various bugs that plagued Season 1, Activision has scaled back the planned content for Warzone Season 2. The focus will instead be on gameplay improvements, bug fixes, and quality-of-life enhancements. At launch, Warzone Season 2 will only offer new Ranked Play rewards and a new Reactive Armor perk, with an additional perk planned for mid-season.
Black Ops 6 Season 2 will deliver a wealth of new content for multiplayer fans. Five new maps are scheduled throughout the season, alongside a variety of new weapons, modes, and more. Alongside Lifeline, the other map available at launch will be revealed soon.
While a Hijacked remake hasn't been confirmed for Black Ops 6, another beloved Black Ops 2 map is making a return: Grind. This popular 6v6 map, set in a skate park, will be available as a remaster in the mid-season update. Grind first appeared in the Revolution DLC pack for Black Ops 2 and later returned in Black Ops 4. Treyarch has also hinted at an "additional surprise" related to Grind later in the season.
Treyarch has teased even more exciting additions for Season 2 beyond the already confirmed new weapons for Black Ops 6 and Warzone. A cryptic tease of a "rip-roaring projectile armament" has led to speculation about the return of the D13 Sector from Black Ops 3. This unique weapon fires ricocheting discs capable of eliminating multiple enemies, but its inclusion remains unconfirmed.
