Players have unearthed a new exploit in Call of Duty: Warzone, enabling them to equip camos from 2023's Modern Warfare 3 onto their Black Ops 6 arsenal. This discovery has sparked discussion among players, many of whom believe cross-game camo compatibility should be a standard feature.
While Modern Warfare 3's weaponry remains accessible in Warzone, the current meta leans heavily towards weapons from Treyarch Studios' Black Ops 6. This leaves players who invested time unlocking camos in Modern Warfare 3 feeling their efforts have gone to waste.
Similar to previous Call of Duty titles, players are grinding in Black Ops 6 to acquire the prestigious mastery camos. These camos, unlike weapon blueprints, are earned through gameplay challenges rather than purchases. Players dedicate significant time to unlock gold, diamond, dark spine, and finally, the coveted dark matter camo for a wide array of weapons.
For those who already unlocked these mastery camos in Modern Warfare 3, their value in Warzone diminished after Black Ops 6's release. However, this new glitch may revive their usefulness.
This unofficial method, discovered by Twitter user BSPGamin (and reported by Dexerto), allows players to equip Modern Warfare 3 camos on Black Ops 6 weapons within Warzone. However, being a glitch, it's likely Treyarch Studios and Raven Software will patch it in a future update.
The exploit requires a partner. In a private Warzone match, equip a Black Ops 6 weapon in the first loadout slot, then join a friend's lobby. Next, equip a Modern Warfare 3 weapon with the desired camo in your first loadout slot, and rapidly select the camo. Simultaneously, your friend must switch to a private match. You then back out of the private match, and repeat the rapid camo selection as your friend rejoins a private match. The camo should then be applied to your Black Ops 6 weapon.
For players content with using Black Ops 6 camos but haven't unlocked all mastery camos, Treyarch has confirmed they are working on adding a challenge tracking feature to Black Ops 6. This feature, present in Modern Warfare 3 but absent in Black Ops 6 at launch, will return in an upcoming update.
